天地之初，草木萌生，陰陽交融而成萬象。人得其靈，以心為燈，以智為藥。 草木之性，仁而不爭；文明之道，和而不偏。 故曰：本草者，天地之文理也；文明者，人心之光明也。合二者而為一，則生生不息，化化無窮。 是以本草文明，非徒藥理之學，乃心性之修，以仁養智，以智護生，以生續光。 光不滅，則文明長；心不昧，則天地新。

English Version - Written by Shuang Fei

At the dawn of Heaven and Earth, herbs sprouted, and life began. Yin and Yang intertwined,giving birth to all forms. Humanityreceived spirit — a lamp of heart, a medicine of wisdom. The nature of herbs isbenevolent and uncontentious. the path ofcivilization is harmonious and balanced. Thus, “Herbal Civilization” is notmerely the study of medicine, but the cultivation of mind  and virtue — tonourish wisdom with compassion, to protect life with understanding, to sustainlight through living. When light endures, civilization flourishes; when theheart remains clear, Heaven and Earth renew themselves.
